…and I couldn’t stop laughing.
It was the part where their Pit Bull was stuck on a raft in their backyard pool. The woman was putting on a kids’ inner tube and the water wings you put on your arm (which were almost as long as HER arms). She could barely keep afloat in there, especially when the dog jumped into the water.
The guy just dove in there and swam like a friggin’ FISH making sure his dog was okay.
Now, what was the funniest part of that to me? The piano riff they played when they showed clips of them falling down. It sounded like old western dueling pianos…or that scene where Daffy & Bugs duel it out in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Now, to clarify: I am in no way trying to make fun of small people. I had a friend in school who was one and she was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I love all people equally and do my best to treat everyone with respect.
…I just happened to think that bit was funny.
Yeah, that’s about right. I have geeky friends that have nerdy tendencies, but that doesn’t make them full-fledged nerds. If Marvel has become so mainstream that people at Hot Topic label themselves as geeks, I think we all need to have a lesson:
I label nerds as awkward in any situation, regardless of who they’re surrounded by. Sure, the traditional stereotype of geeks have blurred into the realm of douche by some of the mainstream labels *Cough* G4! *Cough* but the media doesn’t accurately portray the diversity of said group very well.
I absolutely hate Big Bang Theory because that does the opposite of what is out there. They show nerds with geeky tendencies and borderline disgrace the more socially awkward, such as people with Asperger’s. (I don’t just throw that out there, I speak as one)
Geeks aren’t Nerds, Nerds aren’t Douches and Douches aren’t Geeks.
What you have just displayed with this and what you have exhibited in your responses is there is no clear cut definition of either, so do your homework before you judge.
I agree that not all geeks prefer Starbucks over Bawls, that just shows where your allegiance lies. If you prefer coffee over soda, you’re committing neutral zone infractions by saying you’re a geek. I could see you working at a Geek Squad and driving a Volvo, but that doesn’t entirely make you a geek, that makes you a suit.
I know where I stand on the issue because I surround myself with geeks and nerds every day, so before you say anything…

I think I get this. If I’m right, then yeah, this is funny.
